Lauralynn White Artist Statement

The primary focus of my work lies in exploring the relationship between our environment and ourselves, both as individuals and collectively as a species. I endeavor to expose the fragility and celebrate the importance of our planet’s ecosystems through the vulnerability of the naked human form integrated in the landscape. I paint and draw incessantly, but I also use other natural materials, mostly stone, clay, and wood, to create. My work is a reflection and expression of my own personal experiences in this sacred natural world that surrounds us. It is my hope that my vision of our place in the ecosphere will cause others to reflect on their own relationship with the environment, to engage in meaningful conversations around conservation and to treat our Earth with reverence and respect.
